PTI led Charsadda district govt survives vote of no confidence motion


CHARSADDA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) district nazim Fahad Azam Khan on Monday survived a vote of no confidence after the opposition members failed to show up on Monday.
Members of ruling party were present in the District Council Hall but none from the opposition came to the hall.
Members of ruling party staged a protest outside assistant director Local Government Department demanding him to declare the motion null and void as the opposition members failed.
Later, members of the opposition benches started arriving the hall after the treasury benches left it. The opposition has submitted a no-confidence motion to unseat the district nazim and naib nazim who were from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami respectively.

The motion was submitted by Awami National Party, Qaumi Watan Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam jointly on August 18 who have strength of 50 members out of total 75. They were required 48 members to unseat the district nazim and naib nazim.
