PTI leadership meets on Monday on election debacle


ISLAMABAD: Disappointed Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has called the party meeting in Bani Gala following its worst electoral performance in the third and final phase of local bodies elections.
The party leaders that include core Committee members, central advisory council and leaders from Punjab and Karachi will meet on Monday to discuss the party’s performance at the polls; it won 262 chairman seats in the final pahase of LG polls held in 12 districts of Punjab and nine in Karachi.
Its rival Paksitan Muslim League-Nawaz got 1038 chairman seats in Punjab while MQM secured 132 seats in Karahci.
More than 200 central and provincial senior leaders including members of party’s central advisory council have been summoned in the federal capital.
Punjab and Sindh Provincial organisers will submit their reports regarding party performance in recently held LG polls to the party leadership.
Regarding the future strategy, the senior leadership will review proposals to set PTI’s political agenda.
On the other hand, significant decisions related to party’s membership and organizational elections will also be taken.
