Landowner locks bhu in Charsadda demanding induction of son as class-IV


CHARSADDA: A landowner of a Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Sardaryab area of Charsadda has locked the building in a protest against government for being not appointing his family member as class-IV.
The building has remained shut for around a week, forcing BHU staff members to work in a nearby Hujra, locals said.
According to locals, the government had construct a BHU at the Nijat Ullah’s land and appointed his son a class-IV. Citing reason, locals said that education department had recently posted a female as class-IV on vacant post that provoked Nijat Ullah and ultimately lead to lock the building. Nijat Ullah was demanding that his family member would be appointed at the second post of class-IV.
A female doctor at the health center told TNN that they are compelled to attend patients a hujra. She said patients were facing difficulties as they have no equipment to check them properly.
Quoting police, she said that the landowner has been arrested by police four days earlier for locking the BHU. But, now his brothers have become hurdle to open the BHU. They are unwilling to open the health center, she said.
