PESHAWAR, 2 June: Like other parts of the country, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have also joined the three-day boycott of expensive fruits.
A campaign has been initiated throughout the country through the social media to boycott buying of expensive fruits. The people of KP also joined the campaign during which they will not buy fruits till 4 June. People in Peshawar and other parts of the province have displayed banners and placards as part of the campaign.
The prices of fruits were hiked to an alarming extent in all parts of the country with the start of holy month of Ramazan. The exorbitant prices made it impossible for the common man to buy fruit for Iftar. The campaign has received overwhelming response and the concerned authorities have failed to take action against profiteers.
