KP govt gives top priority to education sector: CM Khattak

ABBOTTABAD: Chief Minister Khyber Phaktoonkhawa Pervez Khattak on Sunday said that provincial government has given special priority to education sector and established seven universities, three medical colleges and 70 colleges in the province.
He said this while addressing annual parents day of Pine Hills College Abbottabad. Pervez Khattak said that PC I for Abbottabad bypass is ready and soon its civil would start for the redressal of traffic issues in the city. He said that the proposal of medical university in Abbottabad is also under consideration and I have also directed the health department to prepare the feasibility report, CM said.
He said that we have increased the budget of education sector up to 28 percent of the total fiscal budget which is a landmark in the country.
Talking about the world-class education Pervez Khattak said that we will have to establish the same system for every citizen to bring the nation in the international arena otherwise we would remain in the same position.
He said that when PTI took over the charge of the provincial government education sector was destroyed as 50 percent of the schools did not have furniture or basic facilities, Science and Information Technology laboratories were not present in the school, we focused on the development of the education sector and provided them all basic facilities to compete rest of the world, he claimed.
Prevez Khattak said that we have also culminated the political intervention in the institutions and now they are working in a better way.
CM Khattak said that private educational institutions are also playing their role in the development of education sector along with public sector.
PTI Member National Assembly Dr. Azhar Jadoon, Advisor to CM Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, KP minister for Food Qalandar Khan Lodhi, KP minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Jamshed Kakakhel, Chairman Dadek committee Abbottabad and PMA Sardar Muhammad Idrees were also present in the gathering.
