PESHAWAR, 8 June: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to form a judicial commission to probe the incident of firing on protesters by the security personnel in Dargai.
Two protesters were killed and several others were injured when security personnel opened fire during protest of enraged mob against prolonged power outages in Dargai two weeks ago. The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPA Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha said during the KP Assembly session on Wednesday that people of Dargai are extremely saddened over the incident and they demand judicial inquiry into the matter. After similar demands by other lawmakers, Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak announced formation of a judicial commission to probe the incident.
Two Levies officials involved in the incident have already been suspended.
