Govt Approves Rs70 Billion For Up Gradation Of DI Khan-Kohat Section Of Indus Highway


PESHAWAR, 24 July: The Federal Government has approved Rs 70 billion funds for the up gradation and dualization of Dera Ismail Khan-Kohat section of the Indus Highway.
The project is part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and would be completed at a cost of 70 billion rupees in five years.
According to media reports, 235 kilometres section of the Indus Highway from DI Khan to Kohat would be converted into a four lanes carriageway. The project also included construction of several bridges to ensure smooth traffic on the highway.
Completion of the project would help promote trade and commerce activities in Kohat, Bannu and DI Khan divisions.
