Four terrorists involved in APS attack hanged in Kohat

PESHAWAR: Four terrorists involved in Army Public School (APS) deadly attack were hanged at the Kohat Central Jail on Wednesday.
Earlier on November 30, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif had singed black warrants of the four convicted terrorists that include Maulvi Abdus Salam S/O Shamsi, Hazrat Ali S/O Awal Baz Khan, Mujeeb ur Rehman alias Ali alias Najeeb Ullah S/O Gulab Jan and Sabeel alias Yaya S/O Atta Ullah.
The issuance of death warrants came a week after President Mamnoon Hussain rejected clemency pleas on Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif ‘s recommendation.
The militants of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had stormed the school on Dec 16, 2014, killing at least 152 people, ─ most of whom were children.
The execution comes as the country prepares to observe the first anniversary of the attack on Dec 16.
In the wake of the APS carnage, military courts were set up for trying terrorists under amendments made to the Constitution and the Army Act.
This was the first sentence approved by the army chief following the Supreme Court’s August 2015 judgment giving legal cover to the establishment of military courts.
