Four policemen martyred in gun attack in Karachi


KARACHI, 23 June: Unknown armed men ridding on motorcycle attacked police in Karachi’s SITE area on Friday evening killing four police officials including an assistant sub-inspector.
According to reports, policemen had stopped at a local eatery for Iftar when two assailants on a motorcycle, with their faces covered with helmets, opened fire on them. As result, four policemen-Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Yousuf, police constables Shabir, Khalid and Israr ─ died on the spot. The attackers managed to flee from the site.
SP SITE Asif Ahmad said that police have found at least 26 shell casings of 9MM from the spot.
IG Sindh A.D. Khawaja has taken notice of the incident and has ordered DIG West to submit a report.
SITE Station House Officer (SHO) Rana Maqsood said the policemen were having iftar at a hotel located between Siemens Chowk and Habib Bank Chowrangi when three unidentified persons on two motorbikes opened fire on them.
