Death toll from deadly earthquake rises to 225 in KP, says Mushtaq Ghani


PESHAWAR: The death toll from the deadly earthquake has reached to 225 in the KhyKhyber Pakhtwankhwa as two more person were reported as dead on Thursday.
Mushtaq Ghani, special advisor to Chief Minister, said that 225 death were reported and over 2000 injuries in Monday’s deadly earthquake.
He said this during a press briefing in Peshawar today.
He said that 15,266 houses were damaged and 2,059 injured people were brought to government hospitals for treatment. The worst-hit area of the province was Malakand Division.
Ghani said three medical teams from Health Department of Punjab are working to provide treatment to quake effectees while KPK government has made a special aid package according to which families of those killed in quake will be given Rs 6 lakh and Rs 2 lakh to injured
MI helicopters are busy in relief works in the effected areas while five seriously persons of district Chitral are shifted to Islamabad, he added.
