Toy bomb injures three brothers in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: A bomb resembling a toy injured three brothers on Thursday in Landikotal of Khyber Agency.
According to officials of political administration, the unfortunate incident took place in Loishlman area of Khyber Agency. The officials said that children were playing outside the home when they found a toy bomb. The boys took the bomb home and started playing with it. The toy bomb instantly exploded with a big bang inside the home, leaving three brothers including the child injured critically.
The injured were shifted to Landikotal hospital for medical treatment.
Dozens of children, mostly in northwest Pakistan, have lost their lives in the past when playing with “toys” that turned out to be explosive devices.
“Toy” bombs were airdropped in neighbouring Afghanistan by Soviet forces during the 1980s as weapons against those who opposed their invasion.
