SHO, ASI suspended over torturing students in Swabi


SWABI: Two police officers including Yarhussain Police Station SHO and incharge of the Jaggan Nath police outpost over torturing a sixteen-year-old student.
Spokesman District Police Officer (DPO) said that SHO Haji Muhammad and police outpost incharge Jihad Ali are alleged of illegally detaining and torturing a sixteen-year-old student. He said that DPO has formed a three-member committee headed by DSP Izhar Shah to investigate into the issue. DPO has directed the probe committee to impartially investigate into the matter.
DSP Izhar Shah who is heading the probe committee, has held a meeting with the father of the victim student and assured him of complete cooperation.
It is worth mentioning here that DPO took action against the accused police officers on the directives of IGP Salah Uddin Mehsud. IG has directed the DPO to complete investigation into the matter within 24-hour and submit investigation report to the CPO.
