Militants kill 50 people in Sar-e Pul province of Afghanistan


KABUL: At least 50 people, including women, children and seven security personnel were killed in militants’ attack in Sayaad district of Sar-e Pul province in Afghanistan, Spokesman for the provincial governor said.
A spokesman for the provincial governor, Zabeeh Ullah Amani said that the militants attacked a security outpost in the Mirza Olang area of Sayaad district on Saturday night. He said that militants entered houses and opened fire on women and children killing at least 50 people. He further said that the deceased were killed in a brutal and inhumane way. He said that after killing these people, the militants have torched their houses.
Afghan president Ashraf Ghani strongly condemned the attack and declared the attack as a war crime.
Meanwhile, Afghan Taliban denied the claim of killing civilians and claimed that 28 security forces personnel were also killed in the attack.
