PESHAWAR: The Elders of Regi Lalma national unity have expressed their grave reservations and demanded of the provincial government of suspension of any future works in Regi Lalma by the defense housing authority, as the dispute over this land is currently under trial in civil court and the decision is yet to be taken.
Addressing a news conference here at Peshawar press club on Saturday, Dr. Amir Nawaz Khan president, elders of Regi National Unity said that prolong dispute over precious Regi Lalma land have caused frequent tussles among Regi Lalma residents thus holding its status as a disputed territory while, frequent recourse to civil courts by the Regi Lalma dwellers rendered it inconclusive.
He said, despite knowing that the matter has been referred to civil courts some self-motivated elders have sold precious land of regi lalma on menial rate to DHA.
He added that the alleged land grabers kirramatullah, Wahid Gul, Saleem with connivance of local police lodged fake FIRs against Regi residents.
He further said that they had held a high-powered meeting with Chief Minister KPK on 11-8-2017 wherein CM took notice and formed a committee under the chairman ship of MPA Mahmood Jan but the committee has so far failed to sort-out the matter and report to CM.
“Current market value of disputed land speaks skies while the so-called elders have sold this land to DHA without proper measurement”. He said.
