Last Phase Of South Waziristan TDPs Repatriation Begins

WANA, 25 July: The last phase of repatriation of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) of South Waziristan Agency got underway today (Tuesday).

The political administration said 35,000 registered families will be sent back to their native areas in South Waziristan during the last phase of return. Every returning family will get Rs25,000 cash through ATM cards and Rs10,000 for transport charges. The repatriation process will continue till 5 August. The repatriation of unregistered TDPs will begin from 6 August.

The FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) has said that the displaced persons missing the return to their native areas in the last phase will lose their status of TDPs.
