Five Killed In Swat, Abbottabad Accidents

WAT, 25 July: Four people drowned when their car fell into Swat River, while another was rescued alive on Monday.

Police said five friends hailing from Nawan Killi area of Mingora were travelling in a car when their car fell into Swat River near Fizagat Bypass.

Rescue 1122 spokesman Waqar Khan said Ahsan Iqbal, one of the passengers, jumped from the car and saved his life, while four other friends fell into the river along with the car. He said three bodies were retrieved from the river, while search for the fourth one was continuing till late night.

Meanwhile, one tourist student was killed and three others sustained injuries when their car fell into a ravine in Bara Gali area in Abbottabad.

Rescue sources said the students of Batrasi Cadet College had come for tour of Galiyat when they met the accident. The injured students were taken to nearby hospital where two of them were stated to be in critical condition.
