Afghan president to visit Pakistan on Dec. 9


ISLAMABAD: Following a fruitful meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Paris, the latter announced to visit Pakistan on December 9, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Office.
According to Foreign Office spokesman, Afghan President is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on December 9 when he, in concert with PM Sharif, will inaugurate the regional conference on Afghanistan.
The stalled dialogues with Taliban fighters will also be brought into discussion on this occasion. Several other issues including border management and anti-terrorism efforts will also be hashed out.
It should be mentioned here that earlier on Monday, PM Nawaz had a meeting with Afghan president on the sidelines of the world climate change summit held in Paris.
During the brief meeting, the two leaders agreed to join hands in reviving stalled peace talks with Taliban insurgents.
